This website sucks

Friday, November 18 2005 7:34 pm

Anyone notice how not only do I never update this thing, but it has turned into more of a blog? I think I am going to separate lingocomic.com and dustycloud.org this weekend and make them into two separate entities... lingocomic.com will be purely devoted to lingo while dustycloud.org will be more of a blog/personal page.

Jay has actually been pushing for this for some time now. I just haven't been paying attention. But then again, if I did, there would be another comic by now.

A string of incompetence

Wednesday, November 16 2005 7:49 am

So it turns out I hadn't actually had my car stolen. I just forgot where I parked it for a month. Yes, you read that correctly. And this morning I wake up to find my now-mangled glasses underneath my rump. A chair is not a good place to put your glasses before you go to sleep. Or any time, I suppose, for that matter.

Who steals a car, honestly.

Sunday, October 16 2005 12:42 am

You know, when I say something like "things could turn around", I don't mean "please steal my car." Apparently someone, somewhere must have made this mistake, because I am now carless.

What happened to.. updating?

Sunday, October 2 2005 2:26 pm

Life's been busy. I haven't gotten around to making any kind of update to this for a long time, and I should probably explain at least why.

I have a full time job now... No doubt you should be familiar with my employer. I am still in college, but only part time now. Barat has closed, however, and the adjustment is kind of difficult. But much more difficult has been finding time to do... well, almost anything besides work and school. The time is technically there, I suppose, I just don't manage it well. But when have I ever?

I'm also working on a book for my senior project, so I don't expect much time for Lingo. In fact, I've hardly found any time for the book. But who knows. Things could always turn around.

Told a friend I'd link to this

Sunday, June 26 2005 4:19 pm

I'll make a permanent link for it later. In the meanwhile, here is my graphical goodies page, sorted by date. (So you can see what the latest thing I've done is.)

I also sometimes post artwork over at What the Internet, in Swamp of the Art Snob. There you can generally get some comments from me about the piece, along with comments from my friends totally irrelevant to what I posted.

DHTML Lemmings legal issues

Monday, May 23 2005 6:22 pm

Copyright issues apparently made the original poster of lemmings take it offline. Sucks... just another reason to support Free Software.

Ah crap... I'm supposed to be at class right now!

Holy crap! Lemmings in DHTML!

Monday, May 23 2005 6:09 pm

Remember Lemmings? Of course your remember lemmings!

Now play Lemmings... in DHTML! Awesome!

No, the story didn't end, it got interrupted.

Saturday, May 7 2005 6:42 pm

Somehow I thought I had written about this, but when I look back, I completely hadn't, and people are very confused. Which is understandable.

How come Jay and Chris are suddenly driving in a car? Why are they crashing through a window? Weren't they working on this huge project? The answer to all of these is that this is a diversion. In fact, if you look at the title, it says "Lingo Diversions - 1". I'm putting this in as a distraction, because I couldn't think of where else to put it.

So the next one will be continuing the storyline. It is already written. In fact, the next four in the storyline have been written for over a year and a half now. So the question is: when will they be done?

I don't know. That's really difficult to answer, since I'm so overloaded with things to do. And the overloading is largely due to a huge amount of procrastination. I'm trying to change this though. I want to start making comics on a regular basis, I really do.. even if it is only one every other week.

I'm starting to catch up with things. If I keep at it, and keep following my planner file, I might be able to start such a schedule. We'll see.

Seriously a new comic. Not joking. Really.

Friday, April 8 2005 10:15 pm

Press here to dispense new comic.

Ah, yes.. nobody expected it to actually happen after over a year of waiting. Oh right, for high quality version, click here.

So, what I'm working on now is trying to speed up my drawing abilities. But what I'm working on even more is trying to eliminate the huge backlog of stuff that is past due. Eep...

If you want to see the April Fools comic, it is still in the archive.. you just have to be clever. Hint: filenames.

April fooled?

Friday, April 8 2005 1:58 pm

Yes, the previous comic was an April fools joke. Yes, I am making fun of myself for not updating. No, this is not the comic I was talking about. But I'm not sure if I should remove this one from the archive. People seem to like it. It does break continuity, but then again, so will the next one.

The other, real, comic is literally less than an hour away from completion. I should finish it.

So I have this friend named Rob Graham, right? I go and give him all sorts of feedback when he's writing this book. When the book gets published, I'm apparently even mentioned in it.... and yet he does not tell me that it is released, until I ask him about it a few months later.

I'm just giving him a hard time. You can get the book from here.

Lingo isn't actually dead... I just said that because I don't want people coming back expecting stuff when I'm not sure when it is ever going to be there. I'm almost finished with a comic, but I really don't know when it will be out.

Dead

Wednesday, January 19 2005 1:17 pm

Until further notice, Lingo is dead.

I might sporadically have time to update it at some point. Not sure. But I have more important things I feel obligated to do. Mainly, well... go here.

Sorry to all of you out there, to whom I've been such a disappointment.

2005

Sunday, January 2 2005 8:19 pm

Hey people... sorry, haven't gotten around to updating this yet. Happy 2005 and stuff. For me, it isn't so happy, because it is a reminder of how much I didn't get done that I should have over the year.

A lot of problems over the break.. as is typically the case, these problems would be justified being blamed on me. I don't have the comic done. It is still only halfway done. It has been halfway done for quite a while now. I'm starting to get worried whether this is something I can feasibly continue to do or not.
